AI policy generation is here, with your own LLM credentials

Released

Termerly's flagship feature shipped. Paste a URL, pick an LLM provider, and the wizard scans your site, detects your industry sector, and drafts the applicable legal policies for you in one shot. Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Refund Policy — whatever applies to your business model gets drafted with sector-appropriate clauses.

The pipeline runs in five steps under the hood:

  1. Scan your sitemap to discover what pages your site has.
  2. Fetch the content and extract the meaningful signals — forms, contact info, integrations, what data you collect.
  3. Detect your sector (healthcare, finance, ecommerce, b2b SaaS, etc.).
  4. Draft the full policies with an LLM, conditioned on both the sector and the extracted site facts.
  5. Persist everything as a draft so you can review and edit before publishing.

The most important detail: you bring your own LLM credentials. Termerly is provider-agnostic and supports the major LLM providers. Your API key is encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM and only decrypted server-side at generation time. The keys never travel in request bodies from the admin app — your secret stays your secret.

Generation usually takes under a minute per policy. Reviewing what came out is where you spend the real time, but the blank-page problem is solved.

This release is the one I was most nervous about shipping. Generating legal text with an LLM has real risks and we have been overcautious on purpose. Watching this thread closely — keep the edge cases and the complaints coming, it is how we get to the next level of polish.
