Sign-in pages and roadmaps load almost instantly now
ShippedDavide Marchetti
Two of the most-visited surfaces, the sign-in screens and the public roadmaps, now come back in a fraction of the time.
The sign-in pages were quietly being rebuilt on the server for every single visit, paying a cold-start cost they didn't need to. We now generate them ahead of time and ship them as ready-made pages, so they hand off to your browser immediately.
Public roadmap pages get a similar treatment: we briefly cache the fully rendered page so anonymous visitors get it back in about 50 milliseconds instead of waiting on a fresh database build each time. The one personal touch, whether you've upvoted a post, still fills in for you right after the page arrives.
Less waiting on the screens you hit most, without giving up freshness or your personalized vote state.
